This is one of Aelbert Cuyp's paintings.He was born on October 20 1620 and died in 1691.Aelbert painted this picture to show how life was back then and what they did.Aelbert came into into a considerable property as a leading citizen of Dordrecht after portraitist Jacob Gerritszoon Cuyp's mother and father died.Aelbert married Cornelia Boschman in 1658.Cornelia is a well-connected widow with three children who bore him his only child,a daughter,in the following year.Shortly before his death in 1659 he sold his father's house on the Nieubrugge and moved into the house in the Wijnstraat which he occupied with a property at Dordwijck in 1663.
